Mall Call - Overmono (DJ set)

OVERMONO [DJ-SET]
Overmono have become one of the defining acts in contemporary British club culture, carrying its restless energy, emotional directness and deep sense of community onto some of the world’s biggest stages. Brothers Tom and Ed Russell have built an unmistakable sound from chest-rattling bass, skippy rhythms, tender chords and ghostly vocal fragments that feel like echoes from nights spent dancing, turning the intimacy of the club into something capable of filling arenas and festival fields. In that sense, their rise follows a path previously taken by acts such as The Chemical Brothers and Daft Punk: underground electronic music becoming a spectacular live experience without surrendering its roots. At Mall Call, however, Overmono return to something much closer to the source. Behind the decks rather than a vast live production, their DJ set will bring the focus back to bodies, sweat, proximity and the unpredictable flow of a room moving together. Inside an abandoned shopping mall, far from the scale of their biggest festival shows, Overmono get to do what this music was built for in the first place: make people lose themselves on a dancefloor.
