Mall Call - Molø

MOLØ

Somewhere beneath electronic music’s endless search for the next rush, there is still room for patience. Stockholm-born, Berlin-based DJ and producer MOLØ has gradually made that space her own, emerging from the Swedish underground with an approach built less around instant gratification than atmosphere, emotional precision and the slow art of musical storytelling. First championed by Jeremy Olander, she debuted alongside him with “Vanadis” in 2019 and has since moved freely between house, breaks, ambient and experimental electronics, resisting the pressure to settle into any single sound. That curiosity reaches a new peak on “Fold”, her first full-length release for Studio Barnhus: eight tracks of soft-focus breakbeats, field recordings, spacious electronics and club rhythms that unfold like a night slowly finding its shape, with guests including Ane Brun and Kamohelo. Behind the decks, MOLØ brings the same patience to the dancefloor, favoring carefully built journeys over a relentless hunt for the next peak. Inside the strange, sprawling spaces of Mall Call, she gets the chance to take the long way around.
